These notable new restaurants opened here in 2023

Given that a number of local restaurants closed this year — especially longtime favorites like Le Coq au Vin, Linda’s Winter Park Diner, The Coop and China In College Park — gloomy news easily could overshadow the good in Central Florida’s six-county area. But many new restaurants opened in 2023, and Orlando Business Journal was there to tell the stories.

Here are 10 eateries that opened this year, bringing with them jobs for waitstaff and cooks, orders for local vendors and places to dine for locals and tourists:

Winter Park-based Jimmy Hula’s opened its 10th location in March, this outpost in New Smyrna Beach.
