BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Testimony resumed Monday in the trial of an Indialantic woman accused of killing a friend who was dating her estranged husband.
Prosecutors said Sheila Graham-Trott and her husband were in the midst of a divorce when she killed 46-year-old Kelly Brennan in February 2010.
On Monday, the trial's focus shifted to the victim's husband, Gino Rallo, and how he reacted to learning that his wife was cheating on him with Trott's estranged husband.
"This is the first time I knew they were together so I actually broke the door down. They were equally defiant the way they were talking to me. (It) was like I was the only person that shouldn't have been there," Rallo said.
Rallo described how he went after Daniel Trott with a car jack and said that later he had words with his wife. He said the conversation with his wife grew into a physical confrontation.
Rallo told jurors that he never gave up on the idea of reconciling with his wife.
"Mr. Rallo, you loved your wife?" a defense attorney asked Rallo.
"Very much," he responded.
"Even after you found out she'd been cheating on you behind your back for several months?" the attorney asked.
"Yes," Rallo said.
"You still wanted to be with her?" the attorney asked.
"Yes," Rallo said.
Rallo said that he was running errands around the time of Brennan's slaying. He said he stopped at a video store and then at a Walgreens, where surveillance cameras captured video of him.
Prosecutors asked Rallo about his wife's death.
"Did you kill Kelly Brennan?" a prosecutor asked.
"No, I did not," Rallo said.
