ORLANDO, Fla. — The arctic cold front has arrived in Central Florida.

Temperatures dropped more than 30 degrees in some spots around Central Florida overnight.
Many Floridians are waking up to the first freezing temperatures they have seen in Florida in almost a decade.
Saturday and Sunday have both been designated Weather Alert Days as temperatures continue to drop after Friday’s passing arctic cold front.

The winds are adding a chill to the air. Wind chills are expected to drop into the teens in some areas by morning. A wind chill advisory is in place.
Although rare, this type of advisory occasionally happens in Florida, serving as a reminder to bundle up with hats and gloves if you’re going to be outside in the cold wind for long periods.

Freeze warnings are also in place on Saturday until 9 a.m. as damage to cold-sensitive plants will be possible today and on Christmas mornings.
A slow warmup will follow next week, with temps in the 80s returning before the end of the year.
