Police said they responded to a shooting call around 7:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Sunset Drive.

The victim, Johnathan Robinson, 17, was taken to a nearby hospital.

Police said the Robinson later died.

Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon said the shooting may have happened when Robinson was making a music video.

Investigators say that video could still exist somewhere, and they’d like to see if it could offer a clue to what happened.

Resident Hazel Weston lives near the shooting scene. She says she was watching ‘Jeopardy’ when she heard a noise.

“I cut the TV down...I didn’t hear anything. I cut it back on...I hear something. Then, after a while, I hear three gunshot rounds,” Weston recalled.

Weston says she and her son went outside and saw as many as 30 people in the parking lot arguing.

Chief Rolon says by the time his officers arrived, Robinson had already been taken to the hospital. Police aren’t sure whether he was the shooter’s intended target.

Rolon says the fact that guns were present at all when they were recording the video is disturbing.

“We’re going to denounce that type of activity, that type of violence,” Rolon said. “That should not be tolerated anywhere.”

There’s a $5,000 Crimeline reward being offered for information that helps identify a suspect.
