ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 15-year-old boy is sitting in jail on a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of a 21-year-old man.
Hector Jorge-Pabon was shot to death near Curry Ford and Raper Dairy roads in December.
Investigators said Brandon Soto, 15, pulled the trigger.
Police said Jorge-Pabon was at the Blossom Corner Apartments and got into an argument with Soto and another teenager.
Witnesses said the two ran him down and shot him.
“When I came home, I saw the police officers out front and over here. People were crying. I didn’t know them personally, but I saw them around,” said Anthony Elias.
Few details about Jorge-Pabon’s killing were released.
First, police were looking for a Favian Rivera, 16, a friend of Soto.
Rivera was arrested earlier this year on another charge and was questioned about the murder.
On Tuesday, a grand jury indicted Rivera and Soto on a first-degree murder charge.
The arrest warrant filed Wednesday had few details on why Jorge-Pabon was gunned down.
But the indictment from the grand jury said that Soto was the shooter.
Police said the teen shot the victim in the stomach and twice in the face.
“I have heard some pretty crazy stories, but like, to me, in our community, that is pretty scary,” Elias said.
Soto has not yet faced a judge for the charge.
Both he and Rivera are expected in court in the next few days.
