Tavares leaders to continue debate on removing fluoride from city’s water supply

TAVARES, Fla. — City leaders in Tavares will meet again Wednesday to debate a proposal that would remove fluoride from the city’s water supply.

Fluoride has been added to the water in Tavares since 1995.

The city council postponed a vote earlier this month.

They said they needed more time to study the issue.

Earlier this week, the Leesburg City Council voted to move forward with a project that would add fluoride to the water system for the first time.
