Girl, 14, reported missing in Volusia County found safe in Marion County, was not kidnapped

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Law enforcement in Central Florida said a missing teenage girl, whose disappearance sparked an AMBER Alert on Monday was found safe on Tuesday.

5:30 p.m. update

The Daytona Beach Police Department said that on Tuesday, the agency along with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office located 14-year-old Barbora Zdanska in Marion County Florida unharmed.

Police said that based on witnesses from statements, it was determined that no crime had happened due to the kidnapping accusation not being factual and also being reported by a third party, not the victim.

12:30 p.m. update:

Police have confirmed that the teen reported missing from Volusia County has been found safe by law enforcement officers in Marion County.

Investigators said she was found at 12:21 p.m.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and that an update will be given Tuesday evening.

Law enforcement in Central Florida is on the lookout for a teenager who was reportedly kidnapped in Volusia County.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement sent out an Amber Alert on Monday evening after reports of missing 14-year-old Barbora Zdanska.

Daytona Beach police said Barbora got into a car Monday and then sent her family a message that she had been kidnapped.

Barbora has blonde hair and blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a black Adidas sweatshirt with white stripes and black jean shorts.

Police said early Tuesday morning thatthe 2014 blue Dodge Caravan that she was believed to have entered had been found, but she was not with the vehicle.

Neighbors near Boynton Boulevard, where Barbora was last seen, said they have been getting together to try and share what they know.

Police said anyone who knows where Barbora is should call 911.
