Homicide investigation underway after 2 teens found dead along Sumter County road

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. — Sumter County deputies said they are investigating a double homicide after two teenagers were found dead early Wednesday.

Deputies said the teens were found dead shortly after 5 a.m. near County Road 219 in Wildwood.

Deputies identified the teenagers as Isaiah Nelson, 17, of Wildwood, and Prestin Nixon, 16.

“This remains an active investigation, however, this does not appear to be a random act,” deputies said in a statement.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office at 352-793-2621, or to remain anonymous, Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
