WILDWOOD, Fla. — Ten people were shot -- one fatally -- during a Father’s Day event in Wildwood, deputies said.
At about 8 p.m. Sunday, deputies said multiple shots were fired during the annual event in the Royal Park area.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said two people from the Tampa Bay area came upon each other on County Road 235.
They said the suspect, Rapheal Thomas, had a gun and started shooting at another person.

Kneesha Quanchase Michael, a 25-year-old woman from the Tampa Bay area, was killed in the shooting, deputies said.
They said 10 people were taken to a hospital. One person remains in intensive care. Some are in stable condition and others have checked out of the hospital.

The sheriff’s office said no children attending the event were injured. They also said no deputies were injured.
Body camera video shows deputies pulling Thomas out from underneath a car.
