Suitcase death: Sarah Boone’s attorney withdraws from case over alleged insults

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The trail of an Orange County woman accused of suffocating her boyfriend in a suitcase has been delayed again.

Sarah Boone’s publicly appointed attorney has withdrawn from the case after she allegedly insulted him multiple times.

Court documents show Boone wrote multiple letters to the judge about her attorney, calling him a dud and a buffoon.

The judge appointed Boone a new attorney during a court hearing Friday.

Sarah Boone has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Jorge Torres.

Investigators said she put him in a bag during a drunken game of hide-and-seek in 2020.

They said video shows Boone taunting Torres while he struggled to breathe.

Her next appearance in court will be in late October.
