Detectives said the investigation began after a Lakeland High School student told them about a video on Snapchat showing the teacher and another student having sex.
Investigators say 20-year-old Ayanna Davis of Lakeland admitted to having sex with a student on four separate occasions off campus.

Sheriff Grady Judd said Davis used her position of authority to take advantage of the student.
“She was in a position of influence over the victim, and she took advantage of that for her own twisted pleasure,” Judd said.

Polk Schools superintendent Frederick Heid said that substitute teachers are held to the same standards as full-time teachers.
“The charges against this person are disgraceful and a complete violation of the trust that teachers build with their students. There is no room in our schools for this type of conduct,” Heid said.
