Student volunteers with local church group clean up Sanford road

SANFORD, Fla. — Fifty volunteers with a local church group helped to clean up a Sanford road this weekend.

Students from the University of Central Florida, the University of South Florida, Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State cleaned Old Lake Mary Road on Sunday.

The Save the Earth from A to Z organization is part of the World Mission Society Church of God.

This cleanup was the second event in partnership with Seminole County’s Adopt a Road Program.

In two hours, the group collected trash from two-and-a-half miles of road.

The volunteers hope people are inspired by these acts of kindness and will keep Seminole County sustainable.
