A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most of Central Florida through 9 p.m.

Some of the storms rolling in this afternoon may be strong to severe with gusty winds and small hail, particularly along the east coast of Central Florida.

Orlando International Airport said the severe weather could affect airline operations, including flight delays or cancellations and baggage delivery delays. The airport advises that travelers contact the airline they are flying on for updates.

The storms are forecast to return on Friday before a strong cold front moves in on Saturday.
