ORLANDO, Fla. — A local theater venue is getting global attention for its beauty.

Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts has been recognized by Architectural Digest as one of the 11 most beautiful theaters in the world.

Each of the selected venues, which includes concert halls, opera houses and theaters, was selected for its unique design, creative innovation and appearance.
Steinmetz Hall is one of three theaters chosen that are located within the United States. It was highlighted “as one of the world’s most acoustically-advanced theaters and praised for its multiform capabilities to transform shape, seating and sound to accommodate multiple types of performances.”

“To be recognized among these world-renowned theaters was a goal of ours starting in 2003,” President and CEO Katherine Ramsberger said. “The perseverance and commitment by our board of directors, colleagues, donors, design and construction teams, partners, volunteers and guests to create Steinmetz Hall was an incredible achievement and we’re thrilled to be acknowledged by such an authority in the design field”
