Police: Driver of Jeep dies after colliding with BMW, Kia in St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — Police in St. Cloud are investigating a deadly crash Friday morning.

10: 30 a.m. update:

The 3-vehicle crash happened just before 7:30 a.m.

St. Cloud police said a Jeep SUV was traveling southbound on Old Canoe Creek Road when it crossed into oncoming traffic, first striking a BMW sedan and then a Kia sedan, head on.

The driver of the Jeep did not survive the crash.

Investigators said the Kia’s driver was taken to a local hospital and the driver of the BMW refused medical care.

Police are still on scene; Old Canoe Creek remains closed for the crash investigation and debris clean up.

Police ask that motorists use Canoe Creek Road as an alternate route and to also use caution when driving near first responders still working in this area.

Officers said the crash happened on Old Canoe Creek Road near Zion Drive.

Police said Old Canoe Creek Road is completely blocked at the intersection, just south of Florida’s Turnpike.

Drives should use alternative routes and use extra caution in the area.

It’s unclear how many vehicles were involved and what caused the crash.
