Spirit Airlines will soon expand services to include five daily, nonstop flights from Orlando at the Orlando International Airport to San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
The airline announced this change Wednesday to celebrate serving over 20 years on the island.
This flight increase is part of Puerto Rico’s expansion for new routes by summer 2023.
These routes would add flights to Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit and Hartford.

John Kirby, vice president of network planning at Spirit Airlines, said Puerto Rico is its number one destination in the Caribbean.
“We continue our San Juan growth with five new nonstop routes, reaffirming our commitment to the island and making it even easier (to) travel more often,” Kirby said.
Spirit said the frequency increases of the Orlando flights would begin on May 5.
