SpaceX launches Falcon 9 rocket from Florida’s Space Coast

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — People in Central Florida had a chance to see a rocket launch Wednesday morning.

SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket at 10:31 a.m. from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The rocket sent 21 second-generation Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit.

The ongoing Starlink mission is using an array of small satellites to provide high-speed internet access around the world.

SpaceX said the first stage rocket booster for this mission previously launched SES-22, ispace’s HAKUTO-R Mission 1, Hispasat Amazonas Nexus, CRS-27 and three Starlink missions.

After leaving Florida’s Space Coast, SpaceX will attempt to land the first stage of the rocket on its A Shortfall of Gravitas droneship in the Atlantic Ocean.

The launch was originally scheduled for 8:50 a.m., but there are backup launch opportunities at 9:47 a.m., 10:31 a.m. and 11:28 a.m.
