SpaceX stands down from another attempt at Falcon 9 rocket launch

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — SpaceX stood down from its launch of a Falcon 9 rocket from Florida’s Space Coast on Thursday, but the company will give it another go Friday evening.

8:15 p.m. Thursday udpate:

The latest launch attempt is scheduled for 6:39 p.m. Thursday.

SpaceX said the rocket will launch 23 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

The company has backup opportunities available until 10:39 p.m. Friday.

If needed, additional opportunities are also available starting at 6:13 p.m. on Saturday.

10:15 p.m. Wednesday update:

SpaceX is now targeting Thursday, March 14 for a for a Falcon 9 launch of 23 Starlink satellites in to low-Earth orbit.

8 p.m. Wednesday update: The launch has been moved back and is now set for 9:25 p.m. from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. Liftoff is targeted for 7:04 p.m. eastern time from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, with backup opportunities available until 10:40 p.m. ET.

The company plans to send another batch of Starlink satellites into orbit.

The launch is set for 7:29 p.m. from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

If the launch is delayed, a backup opportunity is available at 11:29 p.m.

SpaceX says this will be the 19th launch for the first state booster of the rocket.

After launch, SpaceX plans to land the booster on its “A Shortfall of Gravitas” droneship in the Atlantic.
