SpaceX launches rocket from Kennedy Space Center

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Falcon 9 rocket launched Monday from the Kennedy Space Center Monday afternoon.

The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the Koresat 5A communications satellite for South Korea, SpaceX officials said.

The satellite will provide television broadcast and other communication services over South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Guam, Indochina and South Asia.

The rocket also landed successfully on a booster in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

SpaceX has launched three times this month and 16 times this year.
