Space Florida OKs $1.8B 'Project Hinton' plan for mystery company, hints at speedy construction star

Space Florida’s board of directors quickly approved the development of a high-volume production facility, high bay and launch infrastructure at the Cape Canaveral Spaceport during a special meeting Dec. 18.

The new development, dubbed “Project Hinton,” comes with an expected capital investment of $1.8 billion and the creation of 600 jobs at an estimated annual wage of $93,000.

Space Florida is matching up to $65 million of the to-be-named company’s contribution via the Spaceport Improvement Program over multiple years beginning in 2025.
