Armed man killed in deputy-involved shooting in Osceola County, officials say

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An armed man was killed Thursday in a deputy-involved shooting, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

Chief Marcos Lopez said around 3:40 p.m., deputies were called to the scene for calls of a man with a firearm, and three deputies approached the man.

Lopez said the man then pointed the gun and shot at deputies, to which two of the deputies fired back.

A witness told the sheriff’s office that the man fired first.

The man was incapacitated, and deputies gave him CPR. No deputies were injured.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will continue to investigate the shooting.
