Starting Monday, some student athletes will have their first day of practice after the Florida High School Athletic Association decided to move forward with fall sports.
But now it’s up to the school districts to decide when students can get back to the field, leading to multiple school districts having multiple start dates – or for some, like Orange County, there’s no start date at all because they haven’t decided when they’ll start.
Here’s a breakdown of some counties’ start dates in Central Florida.
- Orange County: No start date for fall sports.
- Marion County: The only county in Central Florida starting all fall sports on Monday.
- Lake County will start everything but football on Monday, then football the next day.
- Osceola County: Everything but football and volleyball on Monday, which start on Sept. 7.
- Volusia County: Fall athletics start Sept. 7.
