Some Central Florida doctors practicing with temporary medical license

ORLANDO, Fla. — A local attorney says it’s something she’s never heard of in nearly two decades dealing with medical malpractice.

9 Investigates uncovered nearly 1,000 physicians are working statewide who are not qualified to be fully-licensed MD’s.

They hold what’s known as a temporary area of critical need license, but as Investigative reporter Karla Ray learned, there’s no clear definition of what’s temporary or where is critical, today at 5p.m. on Channel 9 Eyewitness News.
