Winds to significantly crank up as main storm system passes

ORLANDO, Fla. — Evening update:

A few showers will still linger around Central Florida.

Certified meteorologist George Waldenberger said the winds will be picking up this evening.

It will be a windy Tuesday, with a coastal wind advisory and a gale warning for dangerous boating along the Central Florida coast.

The wind will bring cooler temperatures for the next few mornings.

Temperature will return to the 80s later this week.

An unsettled weather pattern lingered in Central Florida on Monday afternoon.

Certified meteorologist George Waldenberger said a stray shower is still possible Monday evening, and winds will crank up as the main storm system passes.

It will be a windy one again Tuesday, with rough boating conditions along Central Florida’s coastal waters.

Conditions will still be gusty at the region’s beaches Wednesday, but we will begin a gradual calming of breezes and experience some even colder mornings.

Temperatures will return to the 80s by Sunday.

Rain and storm chances will stick around Monday in Central Florida.

Our area will be mostly cloudy Monday with a 40% to 50% chance of showers and storms.

The rain chances are being fueled by a large and slow-moving storm system that is moving through Florida.
