Chitwood came to Central Florida back in 2006 to serve as Daytona Beach police chief.

After spending more than 10 years on the job, he stepped into his current role of sheriff in 2016.

So he’s had plenty of experience in front of the camera and in the media spotlight.

Now, you might say Sheriff Chitwood is turning the tables — switching up roles, if you will.

He recently announced on social media that he’s excited to get behind the microphone and ask the questions through his newly created podcast.

And he’s off to a strong start with guests — and even a catchy title.

Episode 1 of “Chit Chat” recently featured the cast of the TV series “On Patrol: Live,” including Dan Abrams, Sean “Sticks” Larkin and Deputy Sheriff Curtis Wilson.
