LAKE MARY, Fla. — A 35-year-old Sanford woman was killed in a “suspicious hit-and-run” crash late Monday night, according to Lake Mary police.

Police said the crash happened at about 11:45 p.m. at Lake Mary Avenue and Country Club Road.

The woman, identified as Katrina Redden, was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Investigators said they are searching for a white Ford F150 with an extended cab. A witness told police that it was possibly a 1997-2004 model and that it likely has significant front end damage.

Investigators said they initially found Redden lying in the grass near a wooden fence. They are not sure if she had been dragged by the truck, but evidence was collected on a basketball court, a nearby business center as well as the roadway.

“Right now we have no information, no suspect information, we don’t know if at this point it is an accident or what, that is all being investigated as we speak,” Zach Hudson, with Lake Mary Police Department, said.

Lake Mary Avenue was shut down in both directions as police investigated the deadly crash.
