ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — A 26-year-old man was arrested Tuesday in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man at an Altamonte Springs condominium complex, police said.
Police said they arrested Heriberto Cruz-Vargas in connection with the shooting at the Destiny Springs Condominiums on North Wymore Road.
Officers said they found Zachary Duarte lying on the floor of the condominium with a gunshot wound to his chest at about 10 p.m.

Police said they immediately began performing CPR on Duarte until paramedics arrived and pronounced the victim dead.
According to police, Duarte, his girlfriend and Cruz-Vargas were in the condominium together when Cruz-Vargas and Duarte got into an argument.
Police said that was when Cruz-Vargas, who was armed with a handgun, shot Duarte once.

Duarte’s girlfriend immediately called 911 and began performing CPR, police said.
Cruz-Vargas stayed at the scene until police arrived and was arrested. He is being held at the Seminole County Jail without bail.
