GENEVA, Fla. — First responders in Seminole County came together Saturday to save a cow that was stuck in the mud.

The 3-week-old calf was discovered in distress near Harney Heights Road in Geneva.

The calf was found on its side in a muddy ditch, with its front left leg and nearly half of its head submerged.

Range and water units with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Seminole County Fire Department, came out to help free the bovine.

The group worked to move tow straps under and around the cow and set a large spine board next to it to give it some traction during the rescue.
A front-end loader was then used to pull the cow out of its sticky situation.

Crews checked back on the calf on Sunday morning and it was seen standing and feeding with its mother.
