SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — President Donald Trump ’s Friday evening campaign rally at Orlando Sanford International Airport has been canceled after he and the first lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19 less than 24 hours before the event was to begin.
The president tweeted that he and the first lady planned to quarantine immediately.

Read More People had already started showing up at the airport when news of the president’s positive COVID-19 test came in, which was shortly before 1 a.m. Friday.
The airport then announced it would not allow people to wait overnight for the rally.
It tweeted Friday morning that the rally had been officially canceled.

“If you planned to come to the airport for this event, please do not,” the tweet said. “Commercial flight activity is planned to continue as scheduled.”

Trump was previously scheduled to deliver remarks at the “Make America Great Again” event, which was to begin at 7 p.m.
