SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A massive chain-reaction crash shut down all lanes of State Road 417 on Saturday night, according to the Seminole County Fire Department.
12:40 a.m. update:
Firefighters in Seminole County said more than 26 patients were taken to the hospital after a 17-vehicle crash on SR-417 late Saturday.
One person was critically injured, firefighters said.

Crews were able to reopen northbound lanes of the 417, but southbound lanes remain closed.

Family members of crash victims gathered at the Oviedo Mall, where a staging area was set up by first responders.

Firefighters said the crash has all lanes of SR-417 closed, with around 22 patients involved.

Five people were transported for their injuries, including one person in critical condition.
