Seminole County voter turnout this year could surpass 2016, early data suggests

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Out of the more than 335,000 registered voters in Seminole County, more than 76,000 have already cast their ballot for the November election.

The turnout could surpass the 2016 numbers.

The makeup of voters is also different than in 2016.

Republicans used to have almost 15,000 more people registered than Democrats. Now, they are only ahead by about 1,600.

According to the Supervisor of Elections office, nearly 42% of Republicans have voted in person, and about 39% of Democrats have so far.
