SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County Public Schools has reopened registration for its virtual school for those parents who may not want to send their children back to the classroom.
After Gov. Ron DeSantis signed an executive order Friday to prevent mask mandates in the schools, Seminole County Public Schools began to get emails and phone calls asking if they could put their child in virtual school.

After the original deadline of July 20 passed, 679 students enrolled in Seminole County Virtual School. After registration reopened Monday at 9 a.m., the district saw a huge increase of parents changing from face-to-face learning to virtual school.
If a student chooses Seminole County Virtual School over face-to-face instruction, they won’t be able to change their mind and return to the classroom until after the semester ends.
