Driver who crashed into gas pumps after being shot in Sanford dies, police say

SANFORD, Fla. — A man died after he was shot on Tuesday morning at a Sanford gas station, police said.

The shooting happened at the Circle K gas station at 2500 South French Avenue, near State Road 46.

Police said two vehicles were involved in the shooting.

One of the drivers — later identified as Cedrick Williams, 20 — crashed into the gas pumps and appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound, police said.

Williams was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Police said the second vehicle fled the area before officers arrived.

Bullet holes were spotted on the back of a car that was parked at the station.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call the Sanford Police Department or Crimeline at 900-423-TIPS.
