SANFORD, Fla. — A group rallied outside of a McDonald’s in Sanford on Wednesday demanding $15 an hour.
The state’s minimum wage is currently $8.65.
A lot of places, like The Townhouse in Oviedo, are paying well above that rate and it has stilil been hard to fill those positions.

McDonald’s restaurants across the U.S. are asking for $15 an hour.
The strikers stood in front of the Sanford McDonald’s, which is paying $11 an hour for workers and $13 an hour for managers. That’s higher than Florida’s minimum wage.
Eventually, the minimum wage will increase here to $15 an hour. This September, it will go up to $10 an hour, then increase a dollar every year until 2026.
