SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — The man accused of killing a Navy recruit in Seminole County more than three decades ago took the stand in his own defense Wednesday afternoon.

However, there were many details he couldn’t recall from 37 years ago.

Prosecutors say Thomas Garner’s DNA was founder under Pamela Cahanes’ fingernails and in the victim’s underwear.

Garner admitted on the stand he may have had sex with Cahanes, but he didn’t kill her.

For over an hour, Thomas Garner answered questions from both his defense team and prosecutors.

Garner’s defense team is trying to convince the jury that he has nothing to hide by putting him on the stand.
