Man accused of killing his mother at her home near Sanford shot her in the face, documents show

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A man accused of killing his mother at her home near Sanford early Thursday faced a judge Friday afternoon.

The judge ordered that Adam Savage, 37, be held without bail.

Deputies said they were called shortly after 1 a.m. to the home on Wilson Road near Orange Boulevard after Savage called his uncle to notify him he had some sort of emergency.

Detectives said Savage’s uncle and two cousins rushed to the home, but Savage, who was covered in blood, would not allow them to enter the bedroom of his mother, Vicki Savage, 68.

Investigators said the woman’s brother discovered his sister’s body on the floor. An arrest affidavit said Savage shot his mother in the face.

Savage was booked in to the John E. Polk Correctional Facility on a charge of second-degree murder.
