Deputies respond to kidnapping that was ‘actively occurring’ by the UCF Police Department

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office responded to a possible kidnapping over the weekend near the University of Central Florida.

On January 5, deputies responded to Wynn Street in Sanford after being alerted by the UCF Police Department to a possible kidnapping that was ‘actively occurring.’

A friend of the victim initially called UCF police as she recorded her friend being attacked by the suspect.

During the audio recording collected of the incident, the victim could be heard yelling for Irvin to stop and sounds consistent with strikes being landed on another person, a police report stated.

According to the Sheriff’s office, Irvin Murr, 22, was arrested on five counts, including kidnapping, aggravated assault, domestic battery by strangulation, battery, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Despite the victim not wanting to pursue the incident, deputies determined there was enough evidence to arrest Murr.

Murr was arrested and is currently in Seminole County, held without bond.
