SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A 37-year-old man killed his 68-year-old mother early Thursday at her home near Sanford, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said they were called shortly after 1 a.m. to the home on Wilson Road near Orange Boulevard after Adam Savage called his uncle to notify him he had some sort of emergency.
Detectives said Savage’s uncle and two cousins rushed to the home, but Savage, who was covered in blood, would not allow them to enter the bedroom of his mother, Vicki Savage.

They said Adam Savage hit his uncle and one of his cousins before his cousins pinned him down so their father could walk into the room.
Investigators said Lawrence Lavigne discovered his sister’s body on the floor, and her injuries suggested that she had been beaten to death.
Detectives said Adam Savage was violent and uncooperative when they arrived at the home. When they took him to the Sheriff’s Office, they said his behavior alternated between cooperative, violent and dismissive.

During an interview, Adam Savage pretended to fall asleep when asked about what happened at his mother’s home, but he would perk up and pay attention when he was asked about UFC, which stands for the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
“He would talk freely with detectives when asked about the UFC fights,” an arrest report said.
The report said he pretended to fall asleep again, occasionally opening his eyes to look at detectives.
