SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Much of Central Florida could see record temperatures this weekend, as a heat advisory has been issued for most of the area by the National Weather Service.

But there are some options out there to keep cool.
Along with public pools, splash pads, and the beautiful Florida beaches, Seminole County is also activating its extreme heat plan.

The plan kicks in when the National Weather Service issues a heat advisory when the heat index is expected to rise above 108.
The plan includes cooling and relief centers at all county parks and libraries and putting an emergency relief shelter on standby in the event of power outages, or loss of HVAC at a local assisted living facility, nursing home, or senior congregate living facility.
Seminole County will continue to update residents on options through its social media accounts and the county’s alerting system.
