SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County officials announced Wednesday that a boil water alert for its southeast service area has been lifted.
The county said that water samples analyzed by the laboratory were free of bacteria.

The county first notified residents of the boil water alert just after 6 a.m. on April 10, after an interruption of power to the water treatment plant that services that area.

Residents had been advised to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes.
Many residents said they were unaware of the notice for several hours, despite officials’ efforts to notify customers via social media and reverse 911 calls.

Officials said that if residents had further questions they should contact the Seminole County Environmental Services Department at 407-665-2110 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
