SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — The Seminole County School Board on Tuesday could vote to ratify the contract for its next superintendent.
That move would come after a judge denied an injunction to halt the process earlier in the afternoon.
The judge said the lawsuit lacked standing and denied the injunction. If there is no further action taken on Tuesday, Serita Beamon’s contract will be approved at the meeting.

Beamon has been the school district’s attorney. She was recently hired in a 3-2 vote after the board previously rescinded an offer to Chad Farnsworth, an assistant superintendent in Lake County after public outcry.
Seminole County resident Brittany Walker and Seminole County teacher Sharon Swalina filed the lawsuit, alleging that the board’s decision to rescind their offer to Farnsworth and hire Beamon would affect the residents and students of Seminole County.
They also alleged the school board did not follow its own policies during the hiring process.
