3 students, bus driver hospitalized following Seminole County school bus crash

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Three students and a school bus driver were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a Seminole County school bus and a landscaping truck on Tuesday afternoon.

The school district said the bus was coming from Hagerty High School. Seminole County firefighters said the bus was involved in a crash with two other vehicles near the intersection of State Road 426 and State Road 46 before 3 p.m.

Investigators said there were three 16-year-old students on board the bus at the time of the crash as well as the bus driver. Two of the students and the bus driver suffered minor injuries. Troopers said one of the student’s injuries are serious.

Troopers said the two other drivers involved were not injured.

Troopers said according to their preliminary investigation, the driver of the landscaping bucket truck failed to navigate a righthand turn correctly and partially entered the left turn lane and hit the side of the school bus, which caused the school bus to hit another truck.
