SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County Emergency Management held its annual hurricane exercise Wednesday.

The event test runs response activities that would occur if the county is threatened by a tropical system.
The Seminole County Office of Emergency Management hosted its annual hurricane exercise to make sure all employees are on the same page and prepared for the next possible storm.

These exercises are used to simulate how employees would respond to situations in a tropical event.
The county has been busy preparing since the last hurricane season.

The Seminole County fire chief said the county has also acquired two new high-water rescue vehicles.
The trucks cost about half a million dollars and were paid for through federal funding. They can travel through 50 inches of water and carry 28 people.

And whether the next storm brings a lot of rain or a lot of wind, the county wants to be prepared no matter what.
