Seminole County announces changes to 2 COVID-19 testing sites

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County health leaders announced that they will adjust two of their COVID-19 testing sites from only PCR to Rapid Molecular/PCR testing.

Leaders said the change will expedite results, with most results coming back in 15 to 20 minutes.

The change will bring the total number of Rapid PCR testing sites in Seminole County to five.

Only one site, the Sanford SunRail station, will remain with standard PCR testing.

Leaders said the number of new COVID-19 cases in the county remains at 150-250 per day.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management and the Department of Health hope the change will expedite the return of COVID-19 results and further decrease the spread of the virus in the community.

• Sanford SunRail, 2720 W SR 46, Sanford (Standard PCR, Rapid Antigen Available)
• Seminole State College Oviedo Campus, 2505 Lockwood Blvd, Oviedo (Rapid PCR)
• FDOH Seminole Headquarters, 400 West Airport Blvd, Sanford (Rapid PCR)
