While it does not show the whole story, roughly 1,100 fewer businesses moved into metro Orlando than moved out in the last three and a half years.

That’s according to data from the U.S. Postal Service, which tracks the number of businesses requesting an address change to a new ZIP code from January 2020 through June 2023.
ZIP codes surrounding downtown Orlando, Sanford, Kissimmee and other high-populated areas fared poorly on this metric. While it does not seem like much change has happened in the 32801 ZIP code — which represents downtown’s central business district — the years were riddled with large fluctuations in change-of-address requests.
