Where can residents go in Central Florida to find the lowest rents as housing costs skyrocket?

Head to the coast, according to Apartment List’s June National Rent Report. The three Central Florida cities with the lowest median two-bedroom rents are found in Brevard and Volusia Counties, including the region’s cheapest rental market: Palm Bay.

The median two-bedroom rent in Palm Bay, Brevard County’s biggest city, is $1,386. The Space Coast market as a whole is undervalued, Joe LaFleur, multifamily expert at Orlando-based 100 Units, told the Orlando Business Journal.

Rents there historically have been far behind rents in and around Orlando, but the gap is closing, LaFleur said.
