ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Thursday marked another first for the new Brightline train that will travel between West Palm and the Orlando International Airport.
Officials pushed the high-speed railway to its limits, with speeds reaching 130 MPH in Central Florida. And it was almost a blink-and-you-missed-it moment as the trains were tested along the tracks between the 417 and 520.
The high-speed train moved through Orange and Brevard counties. Though it’s not the first time that happened, it’s the first time at its maximum speed.
This week, Brightline met with schools to go over safety near the tracks, and hope to start passenger service within the next couple of months.
