District leaders say the improvements will allow them to remove several portable classrooms from campus.

The new renovations are expected to be completed by August of 2022.

The school district said that $1.5 million for the new construction came from sales tax funding.

Originally built in 1960, Casselberry Elementary has added several buildings and improvements to the school, with the most recent project being in 1987.
