Deputies said the employee, Cameron Burke, worked as a technology support representative Oak Ridge High School.

According to a report, a 15-year-old student was helping Burke at the school with computers in June 2020.

The report said the student and Burke were in an elevator when he told her that he liked her. Burke then kissed the student on the lips.

The student told deputies that in August or September of 2020, Burke took her to a back room and had sex with her.

She told deputies that they last had sex in May 2021. The student said she did not want to have sex with Burke but “felt she could not tell him no.”

The student showed deputies text messages between her and Burke, where she accused him of “grooming kids at Oak Ridge.”

The report said that Burke apologized in the text messages saying, “I’m sorry if I ever did anything to you. Not my intentions,” and “Certain mistakes will never be made again. Not with you or anyone else...”

On Tuesday, detectives interviewed Burke and he denied having sex with any student.

He told deputies that he never seriously referred to any students as his girlfriend.

Burke denied having sex with the student at any time, the report said. He told deputies that he “had a close relationship with her and wanted to have sex with her but refrained.”

The report said that Burke only confessed to having sex with the student when deputies showed him the text messages she had sent him, in which she accused him of grooming children at Oak Ridge High School.

Burke is facing charges of sexual battery with a child and sexual conduct with a student.

A judge ruled Wednesday that Burke be held on no bond and have no contact with the girl involved in the case, her family or any witnesses in the case. The judge also prohibited Burke from having any unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Detectives are investigating whether Burke had more victims.
