APOPKA, Fla. — A school bus, which did not have any children on board, caught fire in Apopka on Tuesday afternoon, Orange County Fire Rescue said.
The bus was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters got to the scene on North Wekiwa Springs Road and Cimmaron Ash Way.
Pictures and video showed heavy black smoke coming from the top of the charred bus.
A spokesperson for Orange County Public Schools said the bus driver was heading back to the Apopka bus compound and had dropped off remaining students at 4:40 p.m.
It’s not known what started the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
